History Fact:

IEC designed and manufactured the Compact vacuum, which was the first vacuum cleaner to feature a brushroll, a feature that would become standard on most vacuum cleaners. IEC also designed and manufactured the first upright vacuum cleaner, which was introduced in 1953.
